Like other muscle groups, I find it really comes down to exercise selection. Squats and deadlifts will always be great at growing your booty, especially when doing both low rep and heavy and high rep/moderate weight. 

One exercise that you may or may not be doing can make a HUGE difference to your glute growth though, and that's barbell hip thrusts.
