It's really down to personal preference, cardio is great for boosting fitness levels and dropping weight. 

I find sprint based cardio to be way more effective for dropping fat as it raises metabolism to keep burning calories even after you've finished the session. For the best results I'd recommend mixing cardio 1-2 times a week with circuit training and a little free-weight work too if possible.
